In a joke towards the end of the show, Gervais says he supports trans rights - a remark met by cheers from a few members of the audience. He adds: 'Full disclosure. In real life, of course I support trans rights. I support all human rights and trans rights are human rights. 'Live your best life, use your preferred pronouns, be the gender that you feel that you are. But meet me halfway ladies, lose the c**k, that's all I'm saying.' The British comedian didn't hold back in the programme, joking about a number of 'taboo' subjects. 

The Welsh Association of Visitor Attractions (WAVA), which represents more than 80 tourism businesses, said there had been a 'noticeable lull' in visitors across the sector. Almost half of its members saw fewer tourists over the holiday period than they did in the pre-pandemic year of 2019. They said increased running costs including food and energy prices were making it especially difficult for businesses and they now fear for their future. It comes as hospitality chiefs, small businesses and tourism bosses have warned any new levy for foreign holidaymakers coming to Wales would 'decimate' the holiday industry. Visitors to Wales may be forced to pay a tourism levy to stay in the country in the future, if a planned consultation which will be launched by the Labour-backed Welsh Government this autumn is approved. Pastor John Lowe II stepped down from the New Life Christian Church after being confronted on stage by Bobi Gephart, a 43-year-old woman who came forward with a microphone to tell their church in Warsaw, Indiana, how he'd groomed her as a teen, starting when she was 16 - the legal age of consent in the state. Pastor Lowe II had just told the church that he 'sinned' 20 years ago by committing adultery, without mentioning how old the woman or girl was at the time. He begged for the church's forgiveness, then received a standing ovation. Bobi then stormed towards the stage with her husband, Nate.

Amy Blyth, 23, (middle and right) was strolling with her 18-month-old son, Theo Prior, (far right) when he disappeared through a drain cover, which terrifyingly flipped over and then closed on top of him on Sunday afternoon. The footage, captured on CCTV from a neighbouring house, showed the moment the quick-thinking personal trainer jumped into the drain to rescue the tot and quickly plucked him from a river of human waste in Tenterden, Kent. The mother-of-one stood on ledges at the side of the sewer to reach down to her toddler son who had fallen to the very bottom. Luckily, she was able to grab hold of him and lift him out - but his clothes were left covered in human waste. Describing the 'horror film' moment, Ms Blyth said: 'My first thought was "Oh my God, he's dead.''' The incident happened on a public pavement and Southern Water have since apologised to the family and said they are 'taking the matter very seriously'.

But the prize-giving had clearly not been rehearsed and Meghan ended up being squashed between Harry and one of his teenage teammates as they struggled to lift the heavy cup over her head for a photo. After a few seconds in the shadows at the back of the stage, Meghan stepped to the front of the stage for her moment in the spotlight. Footage of the encounter was shared online by a Twitter user who noted it looked like they 'didn't know where to put her' and then ended up 'blocking her with the trophy'.

Nathaniel Pope has been jailed at Birmingham Crown Court for life with a minimum term of 24 years for the 'brutal' murder of his partner's son, three-year-old Kemarni Watson Darby. Pope, 32, was found guilty of murder in April, following a five-month trial which heard that Kemarni had 34 separate areas of external injuries. Kemarni's mother, 31-year-old Alicia Watson, was today jailed for 11 years for child cruelty and causing or allowing the death of her three-year-old son. Now, it has been revealed that Pope smiled with officers and claimed not to be Watson's partner when police arrived at the scene following Kemarni's killing. A video clip of the encounter with an officer was released by West Midlands Police after the sentencing, showing a shirtless Pope in an apparently relaxed mood despite beating Kermani to death.

Former tennis stars John McEnroe and Tim Henman clashed in an awkward live TV debate over Wimbledon's decision to ban Russian and Belarusian players from their tournament this summer - after the ATP and WTA stripped it of its ranking points following the controversial move. Wimbledon will now effectively be an exhibition and there has been a suggestion that players could skip the competition entirely. The All-England club have stood with the UK Government to condemn Russia for their invasion of Ukraine and said they have 'carefully considered the situation in the context of our duties to the players, to our community and to the broader UK public as a British sporting institution'.

Pictures, testified via video deposition He denied that Heard's compensation was affected by anything said by Depp or his lawyer Adam Waldman. He admitted there was a weeks long delay in confirming that Head would take part in Aquaman 2 because of 'conversations about recasting' her role and considered 'someone with better more natural chemistry'. 'You can fabricate that chemistry. If you watch the movie they look like they had great chemistry. It took a lot of effort to get there. Sometimes it's very easy and sometimes it's hard,' Hamada said. Hamada denied that Warner Bros was considering paying Heard more for Aquaman 2 because a 'big part of our philosophy' was to hold actors to their original agreements. Heard's legal team have claimed she could have renegotiated her fee from $2million for the first Aquaman movie to $6million for the second one.

A Hong Kong father ended up splashing out more than he intended on a trip to the toy store after his son was smashed a nearly six foot porcelain Teletubby doll. Furious staff found the 5.9ft-tall golden doll made smashed into pieces at a toy shop in Langham Place shopping mall in the Mongkok district of Hong Kong, China, on Sunday May 22. They checked the store's CCTV footage and the boy could be seen leaning onto the gold-coloured doll before trying to pull it back from falling. He was unable to save the giant glittery decorative item and it crashed to the ground. At the time, the boy's father, Cheng, was on a call outside the shop but turned back in after hearing a loud smashing sound. The boy's dad said: 'My son was motionless, he was just staring down at the toy. My son was terrified after the incident that he had to skip school. He asked me why the doll looked scary.'

NEW Blue Peter stars past and present united at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show yesterday to unveil a garden designed in honour of the classic children's programme. TV veteran Valerie Singleton, 85, who presented the show in the 1960s, rubbed shoulders with Katy Hill, 51, and current hosts Richie Driss and Mwaksy Mudenda at the star-studded event in south-west London. The New Blue Peter Garden: Discover Soil, is designed by award-winner Juliet Saargeant, who runs the Sussex Garden School. She joined the 11 Blue Peter presenters for a snap celebrating their legacies.

But two hours later a red-faced presenter (bottom right) was forced to apologise and blamed the words on a trainee who was being taught how to use the ticker. Despite the potential for causing upset, delighted social media users praised the BBC for being 'fair and accurate' in its representation of Manchester United. The words appeared on the screen at 9.35am while during this morning's sports bulletin. While reports from the tennis action at the French Open were being shown on the screen, the words 'Manchester United are rubbish' (left) appeared at the bottom of the screen. This was quickly followed by the phrase 'Weather rain everywhere' (top right), leading to confusion among keen-eyed viewers.

Andy Hallsworth, 57, was born 'on or about 31 August 1965' and his birth parents abandoned him six weeks later in the British capital to avoid being outcasts in their very religious families after falling pregnant before their wedding. Lisa Potter-Dixon, 39, who lives in London, said she has tried everything from Western medicine to Chinese remedies, and says a hysterectomy is the 'best option' to relieve her pain. 'I would say that every single day for the past 20 years I'm at a five out of 10 in pain. I think when you have any chronic illness you get used to the pain,' she explained. The make-up artist said she's resigned to not having children and is grateful for her husband, friends and dogs.

A mother-of-three has admitted her baby bump was so small during her last pregnancy that she could hide it - with shocking photos showing her flat bump at eight-months pregnant. Allanah Harris, from Queensland, posted her photo montage on TikTok showing her last photo before delivery with an almost flat bump - leaving users questioning 'how?'. Fluff Puff Husky Boy is no everyday dog. His appearance is certainly striking: bright blue eyes, a short, squashed muzzle and an almost feathery white coat with flashes of pink. But his looks, perhaps, are not the most surprising thing about him. Reared in Chelmsford, Essex, Fluff Puff was recently sold to a Texas breeder to work - we believe - as a stud dog. And the price paid? An astonishing $1 million (£780,000). That's if we take his breeder, Diego Sanchez - whose breeding outfit Dezinerbullz is licensed by his local council in Maldon - at his word. In video footage, Sanchez, a Colombian national, is seen delivering Fluff Puff to his new American owner at a luxury London flat. Fluff Puff was then flown to Houston: it was, according to Sanchez, a historic moment.

The world's shortest living teenager has been crowned in Kathmandu, Nepal as he arrived to collect his award from Guinness World Records. Dor Bahadur Khapangi, who measures just 2ft 5in (73.43cm), was carried by a relative to the location in the Nepalese capital. Dhananjay Regmi, CEO of the Tourism Board, handed Khapangi the frame certificate - which came up to his chest - at a ceremony organised by Guinness World Records this morning.Born in Nepal in 2004, the young man posed with his certificate in front of a bevvy of photographers and media present at the ceremony. The Guinness World Records holder for shortest female in the world is Jyoti Amge from India. In 2009 she was confirmed as the shortest living female teenager at just 2ft (61.95cm). Now 28, she has retained her record all this time and even appeared on American television as regular character Ma Petite in American Horror Story: Freak Show, in which she premiered in 2014.

University of South Florida researchers set out to discover why 'wandering salamanders' willingly jump from such great heights and what makes them aerodynamic. The amphibians, which are often hard to observe because they live in some of the world's tallest trees in California, have long limbs and flattened bodies that are perfect for climbing. But unlike their distant cousins - the gliding leaf frog and flying gecko - they do not have skin flaps or webbing to help them glide.

A Harry Potter-mad student who forked out £3,000 on wands has hit back at trolls who brand his collection a 'waste of money' - and vows to buy at least 40 more. Connor Cundale splashed the cash on his 80-strong wand collection over 12 years, but claims he has 40 more to go before completing the set. The 20-year-old admits that trolls, and even some pals, have questioned why he's spent so much on them, but Mr Cundale, from Buckhurst Hill, Essex, said the magical collection brings him 'happiness' and has vowed to keep them forever.

Ford is using 'geofences' to automatically limit the speed of internet-connected vehicles when they enter designated areas. The new tech could end the need for speed limit signs and prevent drivers from inadvertently incurring speeding fines, Ford said.
